It's Cold Outside

by Fred LeBlanc - January 3, 2008 / 9:34am View more articles

This was the scene when I got into my car this morning. Warning, this is unpleasant for everyone.

Outside Temp: 6°F

I know that's a bit hard to read, but it says, "Outside Temp: 6° F." Not to mention this:

3°F

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

pansy. It was 1 in Haverhill.

But we're both pansies next to my friend in CT who rode his Go-Ped to the train station. A balmy 10 degrees, but his throttle froze open at full RPM. GOOOOOOOOO!

BRR indeed! It was apparently -1 here in Troy, NY this morning, and 4 now. Ah, winter. I'd rather have snow than temps like this. It's even ~35 in Alabama where my parents are - on the coast, even! Ridiculous.

What a time to visit Newburyport again! I certainly hope some of you Web developer guys will be willing to brave the freezing weather to join us at Rosie's tonight. See <http://bokardo.com/archives/north-shore-web-geek-meetup-jan-3-in-newburyport-ma/> for the details.

As a follow up to this blog, this morning when I got up and went outside I said, "wow, it feels a lot warmer than yesterday." Sure enough, I got in my car, hit the outside temperature button and the display showed it to be 13°.

Pansies...you're all pansies. This is the weather I grow up with in Marblehead: where the men were men and the harbor seals were afraid!
