Mixed Messages

While most people hate spam, I actually don't mind it. My junk filter catches most of it, and the stuff that sneaks through lately has been hilarious.

Jeff sent me one of these doozies and I actually clicked on the link this time. (It was one for Russian Brides, I couldn't resist.) What I got was a hilarious lesson in reading the fine print:

This is a dating site. This isn't a dating site.

They don't have a place to contact them, so I couldn't inform them of the confusion I suffered when I got to the site. You can't pull this kind of thing on your customers and then promise them "hot Russian women," because come on; you've deceived me once, who knows what I'll get if I place an order.

I don't quite understand the main picture either. Those people look surprised (pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless) at whatever they received.

not to mention that creepy dude looks like he's about to eat his mail-order bride. They aren't edible man!
