Subway Art
…sorry, not that Subway Art. Metro-Bits has a great collection of subway system logo art from around the world.
Of course, I'm biased, but the original subway system—Boston's MBTA—still has the best logo. Boston's T logo is the black bold encircled "T" in the upper right corner of the screenshot above. Apologies to any San Fransiscans, but the MUNI logo is my least favorite. I'm sure it was a big hit in the 1970's when Waltor Landor designed the worm typeface, but today it feels like… well, like it was designed in the 1970's. Check them all out »

On time? Bah. That's for systems that run infrequently enough they require schedules.
The London Underground symbol has become iconic. Love it.
@Karin but wasn't the original subway in London?
Right - my bad. Boston was the first underground transit line in the US, but London's Underground did pre-date the T by a couple years.
i was much more excited when i thought this was sandwich art.
You can create your own badge showing all of the transit systems you've used here:

Whoops, that was linked off of the original article you posted. Guess I need to learn to read the whole page. :-)
I hate the NY MTA logo, but I do love their circles for the NY subway system. London is a classic, we studied that in school.
I really like this one: http://mic-ro.com/metro/logos/fortaleza.gif
and this one makes no sense to me: http://mic-ro.com/metro/logos/kyoto.gif
Boston's T opened a few years before New York's subway (NYC's first elevated line began service in 1870) but that only makes it the oldest one in North America. London, Glasgow and Budapest have older subways than Boston.
Read something more recent.

Ouch - At least MUNI is usually on time. And you have to love the BA logo (that's for Bay Area Rapid Transit or BART for you east coasters). Of course I am a biased San Franciscan, but wasn't the original subway in London? Thanks for the link though, I downloaded the MUNIficent typeface!
