The highs, the lows, and the in-betweens
Working in close quarters as we do here, we're usually pretty well in touch with the collective mood, and we've experienced them all recently, in the span of one short week.
Last night was a bittersweet event, when we all went out to send off our friend and close colleague Craig Ruksznis, who leaves tomorrow for new life and professional adventures in Utah.
"Ruks" came to us fresh from college, the proverbial "Little Green Sprout", and in three-years' time it was remarkable to see his growth and progression. And as he grew into his role he honored one of our best traditions, by mentoring and guiding other new recruits that came after him, and that was especially heartening. Ruks was different things to different people here, including roommate, friend, adventure buddy, hockey teammate, bandmate, work teammate, mentor, and to me personally he felt like a younger brother. So we're sad to see him go, although we are all excited for him personally, for the adventures and personal and professional growth ahead of him on his new path. May the road rise to meet you Ruks. We'll leave the light on for ya.
But sure enough the sun came up this morning, and it is in fact a gorgeous New England day. My dog Logan is here today and just took me for a walk, and Katie and Robert are off pitching a cool project for an organization near to my heart. A couple of days ago Nick and Robert and I travelled to Chicago to make a presentation to our oldest client, who has been incredibly loyal to us over the years, and the prospects for that project are exciting indeed.
Tonight we'll interview an excellent candidate for our Business Development team for the second time, and a very talented UX guy will join the team on Monday, and then Marcel won't have to be in charge of taking out the trash any longer. We change, we are challenged, we grow, we are renewed. It's good.
